The basic look of Mattel's 2002 He-man was decided upon by of focus group of children--and it shows. If the problem with the 80's Prince Adam was that he looked too much like He-man, then the 2002 He-man has the opposite problem in that he looks too much like Prince Adam. Personally, I don't care for the pretty-boy He-man, which is why I went with a completely different figure for my MOTU set. Bloodbath He-man features all the attitude I want in my barbarian, is actually mean enough to frighten the other hellish denizens of the Eternia in my mind, and as opposed to the Mattel figure, prefers women. Nuff said.
Painted with acrylics and a lot of oil. The sweat is Krylon Triple Thick Glaze, the only way to do water effects. Oil is the ONLY way to get realistic blood. And I hope, one day, it will actually be dry.
(Actually, it took two weeks to dry.)
